Royal wedding will have left many with debt

Written by Tim Peak on June 22, 2011.

The Royal Wedding that took place recently between Prince William and Kate Middleton caused a lot of interest and excitement for many people across the UK, and the fact that most people were given the day off work for the wedding meant that they had even more of an opportunity to celebrate.

The wedding day was a nice, sunny day, which meant that it was ideal for a royal barbeque or garden party, which is exactly what many people did. However, although the parties came as a nice, welcome break from being at work for most people, enabling them to spend time with friends and loved ones whilst enjoying the wedding atmosphere, it is most likely to have also cost people a pretty penny.

Many people were rushing to the supermarkets armed with their credit cards to buy drinks, food, BBQ items, and more in order to prepare for the big day, and whilst all of this probably went down very well at their party they are now facing having to repay the money that they spent on the big day. For those that do not repay the balance within the interest free period the cost will be even higher, as they will be charged interest on the money that they spent on their purchases.

The barbeque and garden party season is set to continue over the coming months, with the warm weather in the UK already resulting in many people planning parties and events to take advantage of the pleasant weather. This could end up resulting in even more credit card debt, as people use their plastic to snap up party items and barbeque food to host their parties.
