Nevada Couple Arrested for Murder, Carjacking and Robbery

ELKO COUNTY, Nev. The Elko County Sheriff’s Department, along with the U.S. Marshalls Office, apprehended a couple wanted for murder, carjacking, and use of a stolen credit card. Logan Welles McFarland, 24, and Angela Marie Hill, 25, also known as Angela Atwood, are accused of killing an elderly couple in Mt. Pleasant.

A bolo of the carjacked vehicle’s license plate had been released by police hoping it would help in finding the suspects. The police had chased the couple once, but lost them when they turned onto a dirt road near the state’s border. They were arrested in a very rural area of the state.

ICICI Bank launches new platinum card: Rubyx

ICICI Bank has recently announced the launch of its new platinum credit card targeted at affluent customers. ICICI Bank – Rubyx, the card entitles cardholders to two cards – one serviced by American Express and the other by MasterCard, which is a chip card. However, both the cards are linked to a single card account and the card spends are chronicled in the same statement. Also, they will not attract separate fees.

Reward points

The reward points programme is being projected as the scheme’s unique selling point. The scheme offers you three such programmes to choose from – shopping, travel and essentials. The scheme promises reward points of up to 6 on every 100 spent. In the case of the American Express card, for spends in your chosen category, you will acquire 6 points; while for other purchases, it will be 3.

Credit card delinquencies predicted to remain low in 2012

TransUnion recently took a look at credit card delinquency trends and put forth some predictions for the coming year.

According to the report, credit card delinquency rates (counted as those more than 90 days late on a credit card payment) – which reached their lowest levels in 17 years earlier in the second quarter (Q2) of 2011 – are expected to stay at low levels in 2012.

“Credit card delinquencies are expected to remain fairly steady in 2012 ranging between 0.69% and 0.76% — levels far below those typically observed in the last 15 years,” Steve Chaouki, group vice president in TransUnion’s financial services business unit, said in a statement.

More specifically, TransUnion forecasts credit card delinquency rates to drop about 7 percent in the coming year – from 0.74 percent in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2011 to 0.69 percent in Q4 2012.

Around twenty three people in one hundred have more than one credit card, and having more than one credit card means more than one balance. We are spending unnecessarily when we have numerous cards; think of all that interest that you are forking out on. What is even more incredulous is that ten percent of people don’t know how much money they actually owe.
