Applications which are approved in-principle have a higher probability of eventually getting a card subject to the bank’s verification of details shared and documentation completion, including collection of KYC and income-proof documents, it said.

The service is currently available for customers applying for a credit card online and will subsequently be introduced at the physical branches and partner retail outlets, it said.

Spending on credit cards for business flights steadily rising

Written by Oliver Laker on August 26, 2011.

Aussies travelling internally on business flights are facing heftier bills on their credit cards as a result of the rising cost of air travel.

The American Express Business Travel Monitor revealed that the cost of business class flights increased by 12 per cent in the second three-month period of 2011.

Carl Jones, head of American Express advisory services for the Asia Pacific region, commented: “The major airlines are competing vigorously for business travel spending but they arent doing it by getting into a price war.”

Business travellers were not the only ones left struggling to pay higher fees, as those taking trips in economy class also faced a nine per cent rise in the amount they had to pay.

Mr Jones asserted that the aviation industry in Australia is particularly strong at the moment because of the “booming resources sector”.

This comes after Jackie Pearson, managing editor of YourMoney Magazine, urged consumers to compare credit cards to ensure they got one that was suited to their requirements.
